Early Life and Education

Rory Stewart was born on January 3, 1973, in Hong Kong. He is the son of a British diplomat and a Scottish mother. Stewart was educated at Eton College and Balliol College, Oxford, where he studied modern history. He later studied at the École Polytechnique in Paris.

Career

After graduating from university, Stewart worked as an intelligence officer for the British Army.
