Chilean club Colo-Colo welcomed back boyhood star Arturo Vidal in spectacular fashion
After 16-and-a-half years away, Vidal has now returned to his boyhood club, and he was unveiled in a ceremony at the Estadio Monumental. The Chilean midfielder received a rousing reception from the fans, who packed the stadium to capacity.
Vidal spoke to the media after the ceremony, expressing his delight at being back at Colo-Colo
He said: "I'm very happy to be back home. This is the club that I always dreamed of playing for, and I'm going to give everything I have to help them succeed."
Vidal is a Chilean international with over 100 caps for his country. He has won numerous trophies throughout his career, including the Copa América, the Serie A title, and the Bundesliga title.
Colo-Colo is one of the most successful clubs in Chile, having won the Chilean Primera División 32 times. They are currently the defending champions.
